Our Mission

FBAR Info Hub exists because a form as consequential as the FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) is too often explained in language that only makes sense to people who already understand it. We write for the person encountering the requirement for the first time — someone who just found out they might owe a filing, and needs a clear, accurate starting point before deciding whether to bring in a professional.

What We Are — and What We Are Not

We are a content and education resource. We publish articles that explain the rules, history, deadlines, and penalty structure surrounding the FBAR, sourced from publicly available FinCEN and IRS guidance, statutes, and court decisions.

We are not a law firm, CPA firm, or tax preparation service, and nothing on this site should be treated as individualized legal or tax advice. We are not affiliated with FinCEN, the IRS, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, or any government agency. Every reader's situation is different, and decisions about specific filings should be made with the help of a licensed professional. See our full disclaimer for details.

Our Editorial Approach

Our readers include U.S. citizens living abroad, green card holders with overseas family accounts, small business owners with foreign subsidiaries, and people simply trying to understand a filing requirement their bank or accountant just mentioned for the first time.
